LAN GateKeeper - Protect Your Network from Internal Print

ImageYour company's network is protected from outside by firewalls and anti-virus gateways and other security devices. Yet, millions of dollars in data, time and equipments are lost every year by someone from inside.

No, we are not talking about espionage or sabotage. We are talking about someone who just happened to bring his home computer to work and hooked up to the LAN. What if the computer he brought was infected with virus?

"LAN GateKeeper" -- the solution -- is the software that enables systems administrator to protect company's network from unauthorized computer access.

Features

  • DHCP Service with Authentication Capabilities ( Functionality )
  • MAC Address Authentication
  • Linux platform security software
  • Authentication available with or without a DHCP server
  • Secure your company LAN at a low cost
  • Prevent leakage of personal information
  • Protect network computers from external computers with viruses

How does LAN GateKeeper work?

ImageWhen computer is connected to your company LAN, it asks for an IP address by sending request over the LAN to DHCP server. When DHCP receives the request, it issues an available IP address. When computer receives new IP address, it broadcasts over LAN that it will use this IP address. Among with the IP address it broadcasts, computer also broadcasts it MAC address. When "LAN GateKeeper" detects the MAC address is not in the authorized MAC address list, "LAN GateKeeper" blocks the IP DHCP server issued by broadcasting that the IP is already in use. When there is a conflict, computer cannot use the IP address it was given, thus protecting the LAN from authorized access.

With DHCP Server

  1.  Unauthorized computer ("A") is connected to your LAN
  2.  "A" requests IP address from DHCP server
  3.  DHCP grants one IP address to "A"
  4.  "A" broadcasts new IP address to the network
  5.  "LAN GateKeeper" challenges and blocks the IP from being used by "A"

Without DHCP Server

  1.  Unauthorized computer ("A") is connected to your with staticIP address
  2.  "A" broadcasts new IP address to the network
  3.  "LAN GateKeeper" challenges and blocks the IP from being used by "A"
